After suffering a potential hamstring injury during England’s 2-1 loss to Greece at Wembley, Arsenal star Bukayo Saka withdrew from the team, however it is not as bad as first thought.
When Saka hobbled off during England’s unexpected loss to Greece just after halftime, Arsenal supporters became immediately alarmed. Saka is a vital member of the Gunners, so when he was declared unfit to play in England’s next game against Finland, many worried the worst. Reports, though, have since allayed such worries.
Precautionary Withdrawal from England Squad
England’s interim boss, Lee Carsley, addressed Saka’s situation, confirming that the decision to withdraw him from the squad was precautionary. Carsley said:
“Bukayo would have been close [to playing against Finland] but it would have been unfair to take a risk with him. He’s a positive person and I expect him to be fine.”
