Carlo Ancelotti has offered an update on Jude Bellingham’s fitness following his substitution during Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Girona on Saturday. The England international had another impressive performance, scoring a goal and providing an assist, but was taken off in the 60th minute, sparking concerns about his condition.
Despite the substitution, Ancelotti reassured fans that Bellingham’s injury is not serious. “Bellingham is scoring his fifth goal in a row and is in good form,” the Real Madrid manager said. “He has a bit of fatigue in his leg and preferred not to take any risks in the final moments of the game. He is fine and is available for Tuesday.”
Real Madrid’s win against Girona, which came courtesy of goals from Bellingham, Arda Guler, and Kylian Mbappe, moved them closer to the top of La Liga. They now sit just two points behind leaders Barcelona, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Real Betis.
Ancelotti also provided updates on other players, noting that while Ferland Mendy is dealing with a muscle injury, the rest of the squad has only suffered minor knocks. The coach praised his team’s performance, particularly in the second half, after Bellingham’s goal gave them more clarity and confidence on the pitch.
Real Madrid will face Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday, and Ancelotti expects Bellingham to be fit and ready for the match.
