Cesc Fabregas Admits Regret Over Not Playing With Erling Haaland

Cesc Fabregas has admitted that one of his few regrets from his glittering career is not having the chance to play alongside Manchester City’s star striker, Erling Haaland. The former Chelsea, Barcelona, and Arsenal midfielder praised the Norwegian forward for his unique abilities, describing him as “too special and too good.”

Now head coach at Italian side Como, Fabregas shared his admiration for Haaland during an interview with Planet Premier League, highlighting how the 6’4″ forward constantly keeps defenders on edge. Despite playing with world-class players throughout his career, Fabregas confessed that he never had the opportunity to line up with a striker of Haaland’s calibre.

“When you talk about players like Haaland, you know he’ll just make it happen,” Fabregas said. “He’s too special and too good. Even if he doesn’t score in one match, he’ll come back with a hat-trick in the next. He’s always a threat because he plays in such a good team, and there’s always a gap or chance for him to make a difference.”

Fabregas further noted how difficult it must be for defenders to face a player like Haaland, who is currently in sensational form. “If I were a central defender, or any player going up against Haaland, I wouldn’t get too complacent. He’s a machine, and I really admire him. I wish I had played with a striker of his quality.”

As Haaland continues to set records at Manchester City, Fabregas’s admiration only grows, leaving the former midfield maestro to reflect on what could have been had their paths crossed on the pitch.
