Dominik Livakovic keeps Fenerbahce standing strong

Fenerbahce’s Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic’s performance is on the rise each passing day.

After the loss to Galatasaray, Fenerbahce gained morale by defeating Union St. Gilloise in the UEFA Europa League in front of their fans, with Livakovic being one of the standout players against the Belgian team. Although he had no chance to intervene in the goal scored from a rebound, the Croatian goalkeeper made 5 saves, including one from a penalty, playing a significant role in the yellow-navy team’s victory.

In the first week of the UEFA Europa League, Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Mispati topped the chart with 7 saves, while 5 players (Kotarski, Haikin, Tzolakis, Boumann, Provedel) made 6 saves. Livakovic also managed to be among the goalkeepers with the most saves, alongside Beşiktaş’s Mert Günok and 4 others (Petterson, Unnerstall, Vicerio). The 29-year-old goalkeeper has recorded a total of 17 saves (3.4 per match) in 5 matches this season in Europe.

Second place in the league with Muslera

Dominik Livakovic is also one of the 3 goalkeepers who have conceded the fewest goals per match among teams that have played 6 league matches this season. Okan Kocuk from Samsunspor ranks first, allowing 3 goals in 6 matches, while Livakovic shares the second spot with Galatasaray’s captain Fernando Muslera, having conceded 5 goals and averaging 0.8 per match. This situation is seen as quite normal within Fenerbahce, with the club commenting, “This is Livakovic. We knew his potential. He has found himself.”
