As the Red Devils struggle with a defensive injury issue, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is apparently prepared to start Jonny Evans in an emergency left-back role against Brentford.
United has had a challenging beginning to the season, and things are likely to become worse as they negotiate Brentford without five vital defenders. Ten Hag has little choices, hence he must rearrange his backline for the game against the in-form Brentford team.
Jonny Evans to cover left-back
The Mirror claims that Ten Hag is supposed to send seasoned Jonny Evans as left-back in this pivotal game. Evans will have to cover the left flank with Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt probably beginning in central defense and Diogo Dalot at right-back.
Ten Hag will hope this improvised defense can withstand Brentford’s attack as United tries to turn their season around.
