Excellent Free-Kick by Modric
Luka Modrić celebrated his 39th birthday with a great goal! He scored the only goal in Croatia’s 1-0 win over Poland. And he created the perfect setting for his birthday party.
The legendary midfielder scored a stunning free-kick from outside the penalty area in the 52nd minute to give his country all three points in the UEFA Nations League match.
This goal was Modrić’s 27th international goal. With this match, he became the second most internationalised player in European history. After the match Modrić said the following:
“We have to think match by match! I can’t think about the future. I will retire when I don’t feel the fire inside me anymore. Only I can feel this fire and decide.”
