Former National Basketball Player İlkan Karaman Laid to Rest

Former national basketball player İlkan Karaman, 34, who tragically lost his life after being struck by a car in Muğla’s Datça district, was laid to rest in an emotional ceremony in Tekirdağ’s Kapaklı Karaağaç neighborhood.

Karaman’s funeral, marked by tears and prayers, took place at Karaağaç Central Mosque following the noon prayer. Among those attending were Provincial Youth and Sports Director Ahmet Üzgün, President of the Turkish Basketball Federation Hidayet Türkoğlu, National Women’s Basketball Team Manager Yasemin Horasan, as well as political party representatives, NGO members, basketball colleagues, and many citizens. The community gathered to say their final goodbyes to the beloved athlete, mourning his untimely passing.
