LaLiga club Getafe has announced the signing of Turkish international Bertuğ Yıldırım on a loan deal with an option to buy. The Spanish side secured the services of Yıldırım, who currently plays for Ligue 1 club Rennes, in a strategic move to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
Bertuğ Yıldırım, a 22-year-old forward, previously made a name for himself in the Turkish Süper Lig, where he played for Hatayspor and Antalyaspor. His impressive performances caught the attention of Rennes, leading to his transfer to the French club in the summer of 2023.
During his time at Rennes, Yıldırım featured in 28 matches, contributing 1 goal and 1 assist to the team. Although his stint in Ligue 1 was brief, the young Turkish talent showed potential, which has now led to his temporary move to LaLiga.
Getafe is looking to capitalize on Yıldırım’s abilities as they aim to strengthen their attack for the season. The loan deal, which includes a purchase option, offers Getafe the opportunity to make the transfer permanent if Yıldırım impresses during his time in Spain.
This move marks a significant step in Yıldırım’s career, as he continues to gain experience in Europe’s top leagues. Getafe fans will be eager to see what the Turkish international can bring to their team in the competitive environment of LaLiga.
