Liverpool Flop Arthur Linked with Move to Marseille to Join Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood

Reportedly set up for a move to Marseille, former Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo could join ex-Manchester United winger Mason Greenwood as part of a team overhaul.

Reports from Calciomercato indicate that Marseille’s Ligue 1 team is interested in bringing Arthur on board to offer head coach Roberto Dezerbi more depth and expertise. The French team wants to strengthen its lineup, so Arthur—who hasn’t seen one game for Fiorentina in the 2024–25 campaign—could be rather valuable.

Conflicts at Fiorentina

After a poor loan experience at Liverpool, Arthur seemed to have rebuilt his career last season during a loan to Fiorentina from Juventus. He hasn’t yet starred in Fiorentina’s current campaign, though, which fuels rumors concerning his future.

Should Arthur go, he would join a Marseille team that lately acquired Adrien Rabiot following his release from Juventus and has also been connected to French World Cup champion Paul Pogba. Marseille ready to add additional skill to their team, Arthur might be the next to tackle a fresh challenge in Ligue 1.
