Lorenzo Brown: ‘Both Greek teams are the most dominant in the EuroLeague’

Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens guard Lorenzo Brown will play his first EuroLeague derby against Olympiacos Piraeus this Friday night
Ahead of the Round 8 matchup, Brown said he expects the match to feel different than the regular-season game.

“I feel it will be like a playoff game, or rather like a final,” Brown said, via SDNA. “Fans want more games and this is just the beginning. I can’t wait for the match. Both teams are the most dominant in the EuroLeague, and I think it’s great that Greece has two such strong teams in the league.”

Panathinaikos are tied for second place in the EuroLeague standings with a 5-2 record, while Olympiacos are in a five-way tie for sixth at 4-3.
Both teams made big signings during the summer. Panathinaikos added Cedi Osman and Omer Yurtseven next to Brown, while Olympiacos brought in Sasha Vezenkov, Tyler Dorsey, Luca Vildoza, Evan Fournier, and Keenan Evans. Both teams are considered among the favorites to win the 2024-25 EuroLeague title.

The derby game will start at 20:15 CET at OAKA Arena, where Panathinaikos will aim to end Olympiacos’ six-game winning streak in their EuroLeague matchups.
