Mick Schumacher breaks silence after losing Formula 1 chance

Mick Schumacher, who raced for the Haas Formula 1 team in 2021 and 2022, was removed from the team by former team boss Guenther Steiner. The German pilot, who has been serving as Mercedes’ reserve driver for the last two years, was aiming to be back on the grid in 2025.

Schumacher was one of the names mentioned for the second seat at Sauber, which will become Audi in 2026, but that opportunity was given to F2 championship leader Gabriel Bortoleto.

This development means Schumacher will miss out on being on the grid in 2025 and will be out of F1 for another season. Schumacher broke his silence on Sunday via Instagram and sent a message to his fans:

“Life doesn’t always go as planned and facing setbacks can be tough. But every challenge is an opportunity to learn, grow and come back stronger. It’s just a chapter, not the whole story.”

“The journey continues and I am determined to get through this. Thank you for your support, it means a lot to me.”

It has not yet been confirmed whether Schumacher will remain Mercedes’ reserve driver next year as he considers his next steps.
