Real Madrid to Donate a Portion of Revenue to Aid Valencia Disaster Relief
The recent floods in Spain have devastated Valencia, submerging the city and resulting in the tragic death of former Valencia player José Castillejo at the age of 28. In response to the natural disaster impacting Spain, Real Madrid has launched a donation campaign and committed 6% of its revenue to support those affected.
The flooding, primarily in eastern Spain, struck on Tuesday, with Valencia facing severe damage. Across the country, over 200 lives have been lost, with many others reported missing.
Under the leadership of club president Florentino Perez, Real Madrid initiated the campaign to aid relief efforts, pledging at least 16 million euros by donating a portion of last season’s net profits.
Historic Revenue Milestone
Real Madrid announced it surpassed the milestone of 1 billion euros in revenue last season, making it the first football club to achieve this figure, a notable accomplishment in the sports world.
