Saras Jasikevicius: “The Team Functions Better When Devon Hall is on the Court”
Following Fenerbahce Beko’s victory over Bayern Munich in Round 9 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, head coach Saras Jasikevicius spoke at the post-game press conference.
Coach Jasikevicius expressed his gratitude for both the players and the fans, noting the crowd turnout:
“I want to thank our players and fans. Despite the Istanbul traffic on a Tuesday night, they filled the arena, and we played to a packed house. Bayern Munich plays great basketball with very talented guards—they’re a tough team to stop. My players started the game with incredible motivation. Perhaps this eagerness led us to force things individually rather than as a team early on. From the second quarter onwards, we played much better basketball. Nigel heated up in the third quarter, which really took us to a higher level. This is an outstanding win.”
On Devon Hall’s performance, Jasikevicius added: “He played solidly. I think the game against ALBA was a turning point for him. He understands how to contribute just by being himself. He’s one of the best defenders in the EuroLeague and a very reliable player on offense as well. He fits seamlessly into our system, so we have someone who’s always ready on defense and can carry the team on offense. The team just functions better when he’s on the court. The stat sheet doesn’t capture everything those of us in basketball know he contributes.”
