Fenerbahce has granted permission for transfer discussions regarding Serdar Aziz, who was deemed surplus to requirements at the beginning of the season. After failing to reach an agreement with any team during the summer transfer window, Serdar Aziz is now close to departing the club.
Fenerbahce signed Serdar Aziz during the winter transfer window of the 2018-19 season.
Before the new season, Jose Mourinho, who took over at Fenerbahce, initially tested Serdar Aziz during the first days of the training camp. However, a decision was made for the player to part ways with the club.
In a statement made by Fenerbahce on July 8, it was noted that Serdar Aziz had met with Jose Mourinho to discuss his departure from the camp, and the player was granted permission to engage in transfer negotiations.
However, Serdar Aziz was unable to reach an agreement with any team during the summer transfer window and remained at Fenerbahce.
According to reports, Serdar Aziz is expected to leave Fenerbahce during the winter transfer window.
The experienced center-back, who is under the radar of several teams from the Super Lig, is expected to embark on a new adventure in January.
Fenerbahce did not include Serdar Aziz in the squad submitted to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF).
Following his decision to part ways, Serdar Aziz stated on his social media account, “As it is known, I have entered the process of separation following our final meeting today with my esteemed club, Fenerbahce Sports Club, which I have proudly represented for five and a half years. I would like to extend my gratitude and respect to my esteemed president, Mr. Ali Koc, my valued elder, Mr. Acun Ilıcalı, and our head coach, Mr. Jose Mourinho, for their understanding during this process.”
