Serhat Akın was attacked; security camera footage has emerged!

He had said, “They shot my feet after the program,” and the attackers came on a motorcycle… The security camera footage of the armed attack on former national football player Serhat Akın, which occurred last night, has surfaced.

Serhat Akın, who is now a sports commentator, announced that he was shot after a live broadcast following the Fenerbahçe – Union Saint-Gilloise match. He shared on social media, “They shot my feet after the program; our last words are Fenerbahçe,” along with a photo of his foot. It was reported that two masked attackers on a motorcycle fired three shots, injuring Akın’s foot, and he was taken to the hospital. The Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the attack.

SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE RELEASED
The security camera footage of the incident has been revealed. The footage shows Serhat Akın exiting the building with another person when he was shot by an individual running quickly towards him, and the shooter then escaped the scene on a motorcycle.

We condemn the armed attack on our former player Serhat Akın. We send our best wishes to him and hope for a speedy recovery. We expect the perpetrators to be brought to justice as soon as possible.

Fenerbahce Vice President Acun Ilıcalı made a post after the attack on Serhat Akın.
“I strongly condemn the armed attack on Serhat Akın and wish him a speedy recovery.”

TUNCAY ŞANLI: HE WILL UNDERGO SURGERY
Former national player and Central Hospital Ümraniyespor Coach Tuncay Şanlı visited Akın at the private hospital in Atasehir where he is being treated. After his visit, Şanlı made statements to the press, saying:
“Of course, he is in low spirits; he will probably undergo surgery tomorrow. I just wanted to be there for him because he is my brother, and we have shared many beautiful moments together. We have also experienced sadness. I came right away when I heard. It is not a serious matter. He will likely have an operation tomorrow. I do not want to comment further on this. I am both sad and angry. He is not feeling great, and his morale is low. I hope he recovers as soon as possible.”

MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS’ PAST MESSAGE
Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Askın Bak conveyed his best wishes to Serhat Akın through a post on his social media account. In his post, Minister Bak stated:
“I strongly condemn the attack on our former national player Serhat Akın. I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he regains his health as soon as possible.”

AZIZ YILDIRIM: I CONDEMN IT SEVERELY
Fenerbahce’s former president Aziz Yıldırım also expressed his wishes for Akın’s recovery in a statement. Yıldırım said, “I learned with sadness about the armed attack on our former player Serhat Akın, who has sweat in the jersey of our football team for a time and contributed to our championships. I strongly condemn this vile attack. My expectation from the relevant units of our state is that those responsible for this attack and their backers are swiftly identified and announced to the public, ensuring they receive the necessary punishments. I convey my best wishes to our former player Serhat Akın.”

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) published a message of support for former national player Serhat Akın, who was injured in the armed attack in Beykoz. The message on the TFF’s website stated:
“We have learned with sadness that our former national team player Serhat Akın was injured in an armed attack. We strongly condemn this vile attack and wish Serhat Akın, who is being treated in the hospital, a speedy recovery, hoping he regains his health as soon as possible.”
