The referees for our representatives Besiktas and Fenerbahce’s first matches in the UEFA Europa League have been confirmed.
Besiktas’s first match in the UEFA Europa League, an away game against Dutch side Ajax, will be officiated by John Brooks from the English Football Association.
Besiktas will face Ajax at Johan Cruijff Arena on Thursday, September 26. The match will start at 22:00 (Turkish time), and John Brooks from the English FA will blow the whistle.
Brooks will be assisted by Simon Bennett and Daniel Robathan, with Tim Robinson serving as the fourth official.
In the Ajax – Besiktas match, Stuart Attwell will be in charge of VAR, and Peter Bankes will be the AVAR.
FRENCH REFEREE FOR FENERBAHCE
The match between Fenerbahce and Union Saint Gilloise, their first in the UEFA Europa League, will be officiated by French referee Benoit Bastien. The match will take place at Ulker Stadium on Thursday at 19:45. Bastien will be assisted by Hicham Zacrani and Aurelien Berthomieu, with Mathieu Vernice as the fourth official.
Bastien Dechepy will be in charge of VAR for the Fenerbahce – Union SG match, with Romain Lissorgue as AVAR.
