UEFA Fines Galatasaray Women’s Football Team!

The UEFA Disciplinary Committee has issued various penalties to the Galatasaray women’s football team due to four Champions League matches played this season.

Galatasaray received penalties for matches against Racing FC Union Luxemburg, WFC BIIK-Shymkent, and both SK Slavia Prague games in the Champions League this season.

Galatasaray was fined 7,500 euros for disturbances caused by crowd behavior in the match against Luxemburg on September 4. Galatasaray Marketing and Events Coordinator Filiz Umur received a warning for violating basic courtesy rules, while club official Emir Aral also received a warning for breaches of basic conduct. Filiz Umur announced on her social media account last week that she had left her position at the club.

The club was fined 500 euros for fans lighting flares during the Shymkent match on September 7. A warning was issued under the club’s responsibility clause for the Sparta Prague match on September 19, while a 5,000 euro fine was imposed for breaches of basic conduct rules in the return match against Slavia Prague on September 25.

Another Fine from PAOK Match

Additionally, the Galatasaray men’s football team was fined 10,000 euros due to an inappropriate message displayed at a sporting event during the UEFA Europa League match against PAOK on September 25.
