Umut Nayir’s National Team Joy! ‘I am happy and proud

Konyaspor’s striker Umut Nayir expressed his happiness after being called up to the Turkish National Team squad. He said, “Being able to represent Konyaspor and achieve my personal goals is a joyful situation.”

Umut Nayir, who joined Konyaspor during the summer transfer window from one of the Trendyol Süper Lig teams, celebrated a goal against Kasımpaşa in an away match during the first week of the league. After being selected for the Turkish National Team’s preliminary squad announced today, Nayir expressed his delight at achieving his objectives.

Nayir stated, “I am very happy and proud to be called up to the national team. One of my goals when joining Konyaspor was to play regularly and get back into the national team squad to perform again at that level. Being able to represent Konyaspor and fulfill my own goals is truly satisfying.

I hope to contribute to tomorrow’s match against Kayseri and then start my journey with the national team. The national team officials had previously informed me about the visa process, mentioning that a broader squad had been announced. The exact squad wasn’t finalized, but I was hopeful, and now I’m very happy,” he said.
