EUROPE IS TALKING ABOUT VICTOR OSIMHEN

Victor Osimhen has become a hot topic in Europe after scoring an impressive bicycle kick in Galatasaray’s 3-0 away victory against Antalyaspor. The Nigerian star has now secured his place in history as the third player to score a bicycle kick surpassing the 2.30-meter mark, following Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo.

In the 9th week of the Trendyol Super Lig, Galatasaray defeated Antalyaspor with three goals. Osimhen made a significant impact after coming off the bench, scoring his bicycle kick in the 90+3rd minute and showcasing his exceptional skills.

OSIMHEN ENTERS HISTORY AFTER ZLATAN AND RONALDO

Osimhen’s bicycle kick, achieved at a height of 2.32 meters during the match, has put him in direct competition with the iconic goals of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Having scored a goal from 30 meters away while rising to 2.41 meters, Osimhen’s latest achievement falls just 9 centimeters short of that mark. His bicycle kick is the third goal in history to surpass the 2.30-meter barrier, following Cristiano Ronaldo’s bicycle kick at a height of 2.38 meters during the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal in the 2017-2018 season when Real Madrid beat Juventus 3-0.

Osimhen’s bicycle kick is expected to be among the most beautiful goals of the year globally, as the 25-year-old striker met the ball at an impressive height of 2.32 meters. He came very close to the highest recorded bicycle kick in history, which is 2.41 meters by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Ronaldo’s goal from 2.38

‘PUŠKAS, WHY NOT?’

In post-match comments to the broadcaster, Osimhen said, “I scored an incredible goal. I’m very happy that we got the 3 points. I dedicate my goal to our coach, whose birthday is today. We weren’t good in the first half, but we rallied after Icardi’s goal. We were much better in the second half. It was normal for my first goal to be disallowed, but the second one should not have been. My goal could be a candidate for the Puskas Award; it was a very classy goal. Why not?”

Osimhen, who made headlines with a highly talked-about goal, also graced the front pages of European media. Calls for his transfer have emerged. ‘CHELSEA SHOULD SIGN OSIMHEN IN JANUARY’

Former Trabzonspor player Florent Malouda urged Chelsea to sign Osimhen. Malouda stated that they should acquire Victor Osimhen when the transfer window reopens in January: “We were close to completing this transfer in the summer. We were going to add him to our squad. He is a player of the caliber that will support this team. If there is an opportunity to bring him to the team in January, it should be seized immediately. From what I’ve read, he is expected to cost even less than the amounts mentioned in the summer.”

‘INHUMAN, RUTHLESS’

Area Napoli described his goal as “inhuman.” The Spanish newspaper AS headlined ‘Ruthless Osimhen’ and included the following remarks:

“The Nigerian player started the match as a substitute and replaced Icardi, who scored 2 goals. However, Osimhen became the main character with an incredible overhead kick, scoring one of the best goals seen in Turkey.”

‘OSIMHEN IS BACK’

The Italian media outlet Il Matino shared Osimhen’s elegant goal with its readers:
“He capped off the night with a superb goal. Victor Osimhen scored again in a Galatasaray jersey, leading his team to a 3-0 victory against Antalyaspor in the Turkish league. Osimhen returned after some physical issues had caused him to decline a call-up to the Nigeria national team. The forward, still owned by Napoli, came on in the second half, replacing his teammate Icardi, who had scored a brace. His overhead kick in the middle of the second half determined the outcome of the match.”

In the three matches he has played in the Turkish league so far, he has scored two goals and provided two assists, drawing attention with his stunning goal against Antalyaspor on Saturday.”
