Fans turn on Georgina
This is something she probably didn’t expect. Georgina Rodríguez faced heavy criticism from many fans on social media for a video.
Background: The girlfriend of football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (39) was listed by the business magazine “Forbes” as one of the world’s 30 richest and most influential people under the age of 30. In an Instagram video, the Argentine-Spanish model spoke about her inclusion in the “30 Under 30” and explained her life philosophy.
“For many people, success means having money, having a good job. Being able to go from here to there and buy whatever you want… But for me, success means having peace and enjoying every opportunity life gives me,” said Georgina.
This didn’t sit well with many of her nearly 63 million followers. Negative comments poured in. One fan wrote: “How lovely it must be to just arrive and enjoy everything you didn’t have to pay for yourself.” Another sarcastically said: “Fight for your dreams, marry a football player.” And someone else added: “Don’t forget, without Ronaldo, you’d be nothing.”
These harsh comments target the former saleswoman, who, before moving from Argentina to Madrid, made a living as a cleaner and waitress. Today, she’s a sought-after model and a frequent guest on red carpets worldwide, most recently at the Venice Film Festival. She even has her own Netflix series, “I Am Georgina,” with the third season set to release this year.
Ronaldo and Georgina met in a Gucci store in Madrid, where she worked as a sales assistant. They have been a couple for seven years and share two children: Alana Martina (6) and Bella (2). Ronaldo also has his son Cristiano Junior (13, mother unknown to the public) and twins Eva and Mateo (7), who were born via a surrogate.
