Fenerbahce: 25th Best Team in the World!
According to the IFFHS rankings, based on performances from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, Fenerbahce emerged as the most successful Turkish team. The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) released its list of the best teams in the world, with Fenerbahce being the only Turkish club to break into the top 25.
Finishing last season in second place, just behind Galatasaray in the Super Lig, and continuing their strong run in the title race this year, Fenerbahce has also collected 4 points in 2 matches in the UEFA Europa League. They rank 25th with 217 points, sharing the spot with Italian giants AC Milan and SS Lazio.
Samsun’s Rise Under Thomas Reis
Galatasaray, the two-time defending champions, rose from 57th to 52nd place, while Besiktas maintained their position at 105th. Trabzonspor moved up from 119th to 115th. The most notable jump among Turkish teams came from Samsunspor, which had an incredible start to the season under Thomas Reis, with 6 wins and 2 losses in their 8 matches in the 2024-25 Super Lig. Samsun climbed 124 spots, rising from 409th to 285th in the IFFHS rankings.
