Fenerbahçe’s Internal Transfer Move: New Contracts for Stars

While Fenerbahçe’s management has been heavily focused on external transfer activities, they are also preparing for operations within the squad. It’s been reported that the club will soon begin official negotiations with key players whose contracts are set to expire at the end of the season.

4-DAY BREAK ENDS TODAY

Due to the international break, José Mourinho gave his players a four-day break as a gesture. Fenerbahçe will resume training today to prepare for their upcoming away match against Kasımpaşa. However, the Portuguese coach will be without 13 players who are on international duty, as well as the injured Cenk Tosun. Mourinho plans to bring up players from the U19 team to fill the gaps in training.

RYAN KENT REMAINS STUBBORN

No one at Fenerbahçe has been able to convince the English footballer to leave the club! Ryan Kent, who was signed by the management last season before a head coach was appointed, has not impressed İsmail Kartal and had his license suspended. Despite Mourinho not wanting him in the squad, Kent remains determined to stay with the Yellow-Navy Blues, just as he was during last season’s winter transfer window. Kent has reportedly rejected offers from England, Scotland, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, and it seems like he will remain with the team.

NEW CONTRACTS FOR STARS

The management’s priority is reportedly to renew the contracts of İrfan Can Kahveci and Bright Osayi-Samuel. İrfan, who was transferred from Başakşehir in January 2021, originally signed a deal worth 15 million TL per year. It’s rumored that a new three-year contract with a significant pay increase, potentially raising his salary to 50 million TL annually, will be offered to the national star. An agreement with İrfan Can is expected to be reached soon.

DIFFERENCE WITH SAMUEL

Negotiations with Bright Osayi-Samuel are expected to take longer. The Nigerian player, who joined the team at the same time as İrfan Can, currently earns 1.8 million Euros per year. The management reportedly made an initial offer of 2 million Euros to the 26-year-old’s agent, but Samuel is said to be demanding at least 2.5 million Euros. The club hopes to find a middle ground after further discussions with the successful right-back.
