Fenerbahçe’s Polish Star Stysiak Reveals Transfer Struggle: “My Contract Forced Me”

Fenerbahçe Opet’s Polish star Magdalena Stysiak, who plays in the Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi, has revealed in a recent statement that she was unable to transfer from Fenerbahçe due to her existing contract. Her remarks quickly caused a stir in the sports community.

Magdalena Stysiak, a Polish opposite hitter, joined Fenerbahçe last season. This summer, there were rumors about her wanting to part ways with the Yellow-Navy Blues, and she clarified the situation in an interview with Sara Kalisz from TVP Sport.

EXPECTED TO MAKE A DECISION

Ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, there was much speculation about whether Magdalena Stysiak would leave Fenerbahçe. With the uncertainty surrounding whether another opposite hitter, Melissa Vargas, would play in China this season, Stysiak was expected to decide on her own transfer situation.

“MY CONTRACT FORCED ME TO STAY”

In her recent statements, Stysiak explained why she couldn’t leave Fenerbahçe despite Vargas staying with the team from the first training sessions: “The reason is my valid contract. I had no opportunity to move to another club. I will likely be used in double substitutions, and I might be in the starting six for some matches, but it won’t be consistent. My contract forced me to stay at the club, and I have to comply with it.”

“IT WAS INTENSE”

Stysiak also spoke about Fenerbahçe Medicana’s new head coach, Marco Fenoglio, and the training sessions: “It was quite intense. We had tests in the morning and our first training session in the afternoon. After a 20-day break, we worked on all elements—defense, service, and even 6×6 match plays.”

HER STATEMENTS RAISED QUESTIONS

Magdalena Stysiak’s future with Fenerbahçe Opet in the Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi has been a topic of interest. At the end of the season, she told TVP Sport that she would stay in Istanbul for the next season but added, “I can’t say more,” leaving fans with more questions about her future.
