A Turkish team ranks in the top 20 of Europe’s best clubs

Only one Turkish team made it into the top 20 of Europe’s best football clubs, according to a ranking based on data from the past year.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) updated the ranking of Europe’s top clubs, based on data from September 1, 2023, to August 31, 2024.

Real Madrid leads the list with 403 points, followed by Manchester City with 368 points. Bayer Leverkusen ranks third with 353 points, and Atalanta is fourth with 318 points.

Fenerbahçe, with 214 points, is the only Turkish club in the top 20, securing the 17th position.

According to the IFFHS, the best teams in Europe over the past year are as follows:

  1. Real Madrid: 403 points
  2. Manchester City: 368 points
  3. Bayer Leverkusen: 353 points
  4. Atalanta: 318 points
  5. Barcelona: 270 points
  6. Atletico Madrid: 266 points
  7. Borussia Dortmund: 264 points
  8. Bayern Munich: 256 points
  9. Inter: 254 points
  10. Arsenal: 253 points
  11. PSG: 246 points
  12. Roma: 245 points
  13. Liverpool: 242 points
  14. Sporting: 230 points
  15. Milan: 222 points
  16. Union SG: 217 points
  17. Fenerbahçe: 214 points
  18. Fiorentina: 214 points
  19. Benfica: 209 points
  20. Sparta Prague: 207 points
