Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsi Balances High School and Football with Ambitious Career Goals
Pau Cubarsi, Barcelona’s adolescent sensation, is demonstrating how difficult it is to balance high school coursework with professional football. The 17-year-old defender, who just made his debut for Barcelona, is juggling a rigorous schedule at La Masia while remaining dedicated to his studies. Although he struggles every day to keep up with both worlds, Cubarsi is focused on earning a degree in marketing or business administration in the future.
Cubarsi recently talked about his daily schedule in an interview with RAC1, saying:
“I’m in the second year of social high school. I go to class at three in the afternoon after training in the morning. I have lesson till eight o’clock in the evening, and the instructors from León XIII travel to La Masia.” He spends his evenings studying, which is particularly difficult on Champions League match days when he has to make up lost notes or put in extra effort to keep ahead.
Academic Ambitions Beyond Football
Cubarsi’s commitment to his studies reflects his interest in life beyond the pitch. He aspires to study for a degree in marketing or business administration, recognizing the importance of education alongside his growing football career.
“Sometimes it’s difficult to study. But first I have to finish high school, and then we’ll see.”
