Bayern Munich Monitoring Brighton Goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen

Bart Verbruggen, the goalkeeper for Brighton, is apparently being watched by Bayern Munich as they look for a long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer. Journalist Florian Plettenberg claims that Bayern is keeping an eye on Verbruggen, who has a 2028 deal with Brighton. With less than two years left on his contract, FC Köln’s Jonas Urbig is another player the Bundesliga champions are keeping an eye on.

Plettenberg does, however, add that after 13 years with the team, Neuer, 38, is eager to have his contract extended by Bayern. Furthermore, Verbruggen would reconsider a move if Bayern views Alexander Nubel, who is now on loan at Stuttgart, as a possible long-term successor for Neuer.

In the summer of 2023, Verbruggen signed a five-year contract to join Brighton from Anderlecht for £16.3 million ($21.3 million). Since then, the 22-year-old has established himself as a regular for the Netherlands national team, despite his patchy performance at Brighton, where Jason Steele is occasionally selected as the starting goalkeeper.
