Liverpool Star Caoimhin Kelleher Confirms Desire to Leave Anfield

Liverpool has entered a new era under manager Arne Slot, but the club has been relatively quiet in the transfer market for the 2024/25 season. Aside from signing Federico Chiesa for £10 million from Juventus, the Reds sold youngsters Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho to Brentford, raising £25 million and £27.5 million, respectively. The club also secured a future deal to bring Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili to Anfield next summer for a potential fee of £29 million.

Amid these changes, long-serving backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has made it clear that he wants to leave Liverpool in search of regular playing time. Kelleher, who joined Liverpool’s academy in 2015 and has made 47 appearances since his first-team debut in 2019/20, spoke about his ambitions while on international duty with Ireland.

“I’ve made it clear in the last few years that I want to go and be a number one and play week in, week out,” Kelleher said, expressing his desire for more consistent playing opportunities.
