Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that young talents Endrick and Arda Guler will not be leaving the club on loan during the upcoming January transfer window. Despite limited playing time for both teenagers this season, Ancelotti insists that they will remain at the Bernabeu.
Endrick, the highly-rated Brazilian forward, arrived with much anticipation in the summer after impressing with Palmeiras as a 16 and 17-year-old. However, with established stars like Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, and Kylian Mbappe ahead of him in the pecking order, the teenager has found it difficult to secure a regular place in the starting XI. So far, he has made just one start in the 2024/25 season.
Similarly, Arda Guler, another young star, has struggled for minutes. Both players have been linked with potential loan moves in the winter, but Ancelotti has dismissed these rumors, affirming that they will stay at the club.
Ancelotti explained, “Endrick stays here, as does Guler. They may need more minutes, but I have no prejudices towards anyone. I always try to put the best team out for each game, whether they are 18 or 40 years old. Sometimes this means playing with Endrick, Guler, or without them.”
The manager also emphasized the importance of patience when dealing with young players, adding, “You have to be patient with young people. They bring enthusiasm, but they also need to learn certain things. I have no prejudices with young people; in my career, I have played 17- or 18-year-olds when I thought they were ready.”
With injuries affecting Vinicius and Rodrygo this season, and Kylian Mbappe still adjusting to his new role at the club, Real Madrid will face Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday. Ancelotti is expected to field a similar lineup to the one that triumphed over Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup earlier this year.
