Erling Haaland to Miss Man City’s Carabao Cup Tie Against Watford

Erling Haaland to Miss Man City’s Carabao Cup Tie Against Watford Due to Personal Reasons

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will miss his team’s upcoming Carabao Cup clash against Watford, as he returns to Norway to attend the funeral of family friend Ivar Eggja. Haaland, who has been in sensational form with 10 Premier League goals in just five appearances this season, has been granted compassionate leave by the club.

Eggja, a close family friend and mentor to the Norwegian star, played a pivotal role in Haaland’s life, both personally and professionally, offering support during his rise to football stardom. While City had initially planned to grant Haaland time off earlier, he continued to feature in key fixtures against Brentford, Arsenal, and Inter in the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola’s side will be without their talismanic striker for the midweek cup tie, but Haaland is expected to return soon as City continue their busy schedule.
