Ibrahima Konate Defends Kylian Mbappe Amid Criticism

The France international and defender for Liverpool, Ibrahima Konate, has defended colleague Kylian Mbappe, who has come under increasing fire since joining Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain. Even though Mbappe has scored seven goals in 11 games for his new team, he has come under criticism, particularly in his own France.

Manager Didier Deschamps stated that Mbappe’s absence from the current France team was because of a minor injury. France will play Israel and Belgium in the Nations League. Even though Mbappe had been fitter before the international window, his omission has sparked additional discussion.

Konate on Mbappe’s Mental Health Issues

Konate voiced concerns in an interview about the potential impact of Mbappe’s ongoing criticism on his mental health, speculating that the pressure and hostility surrounding the 25-year-old could result in a “psychological breakdown.”

“He has no life,” Konate said in reference to the constant attention and expectations placed on Mbappe. “It’s hard for him. People need to understand how tough it is for someone like Kylian to handle this level of criticism.”
