Like McLaren, Lando Norris Confident Red Bull can turn their season around.
Red Bull’s recent difficulties in the F1 season have been downplayed by McLaren driver Lando Norris, who implies that earlier in the season McLaren faced an even more difficult fight. With no wins since the Spanish Grand Prix in June and a declining form, Red Bull’s fall has seen McLaren leap ahead in the championship now leading 41-points over Red Bull. Norris personally lags just 52 points behind Max Verstappen.
Red Bull’s present difficulties notwithstanding, Norris notes right away how strong they were earlier in the season.
“If you start the year backwards, Red Bull was dominating then,” Norris said. “They were beating us by larger margins than we were beating them; they won the first four or five races of the year.”
Comeback from McLaren gives Red Bull hope.
Like Mercedes earlier in the season, Norris is sure Red Bull has what it takes to recover fast. “They are more competitive than we were at the beginning of the year and they are having less trouble than we had,” he said. “We have, however, turned things around; I also think they can do so rather rapidly.”
Red Bull is trying to recover their form, hence the fight for the championship is still fierce. Norris thinks they are possible to make a great recovery in the last phases of the season.
