MERCEDES DENIED HAMILTON’S CLAIM THAT HE WILL NOT COMPETE FOR THE REST OF 2024
A Mercedes spokesperson denied the claim that Lewis Hamilton will not take part in the remaining races.Lewis Hamilton finished tenth in the São Paulo Grand Prix, winning only one point.
The seven-time world champion complained about the car’s behavior during the race, and during the post-race return tour, he gave a speech on the radio that many people thought were saying goodbye.Hamilton said, “It’s a disastrous weekend, guys. I’ve never had such a bad car before. Thanks to everyone for trying to fix things and for the pit stops you made. If this is my last fight, it’s sad that it’s not the best, but I’m still grateful.”According to the first theory, Hamilton’s words were aimed at team mechanics and engineers who worked in Austin, Mexico City and Sao Paulo, who would not come to the final races in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
The second theory was that Hamilton said goodbye to the whole team because he planned to finish the season early.
Mercedes did not comment on the initial theory, but a team spokesperson confirmed to the British news agency PA that Mercedes has no plans to change Hamilton for the remaining races of 2024.
