Former Fenerbahce player Mert Nobre has joined forces with former Fenerbahce stars in Gostivar.
What Happened? Mert Nobre, who played for Fenerbahce and Besiktas in the Super Lig and is now pursuing a career as a head coach, has moved to North Macedonia. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Akhisarspor and later held the same position at Hatayspor.
Nobre’s first head coaching experience came at Genclerbirligi, after which he worked as an assistant coach and then head coach at Altay. Most recently, he managed Corum FK.
The Big Picture: Nobre’s new role is with the North Macedonian team Gostivar, where former Fenerbahce player Moussa Sow serves as sporting director. At Gostivar, Nobre will be working with former Fenerbahce players Alper Potuk, Nabil Dirar, and Erten Ersu.
What Was Said? The club’s announcement included the following statement: “Mert Nobre, a Brazilian national with Turkish citizenship who has played for Fenerbahce and Besiktas and coached significant Turkish teams like Genclerbirligi, Altay, and Corum FK, is our new head coach. We wish him success in his new role for the remainder of the 2024/2025 season.”
