MOTOGP MALAYSIA RACE: BAGNAIA WINS, MARTIN SECOND

Francesco Bagnaia won the race after a fierce struggle with leader Jorge Martin at 2024 MotoGP Malaysia, which took place in front of 88,000 fans at Sepang.
Although Martin missed his first chance for the championship, the last race of the season, which was planned again, will enter Barcelona with a strong margin of 24 points.
While there was a breathtaking struggle between the two in the first rounds, Bagnaia managed to gain the upper hand.
Marc Marquez was one of those who followed this fight closely, but later fell on the way to third and was out of the race. Meanwhile, the third place passed to Bagnaia’s teammate Enea Bastianini.
Alex Marquez, on the other hand, completed the first four, consisting entirely of Ducati, in front of Pedro Acosta’s KTM.
The race was stopped with a red flag after a bad accident in turns 1 and 2 at the time of start.
As a result of the contact between Brad Binder and Alex Marquez, KTM’s body parts flew in the air, while Binder hit Fabio Quartararo. This coup directed Quartararo to Jack Miller.
The Australian driver both jumped out of his motorcycle and skat on the track, crashing into the rear wheel of Quartararo’s Yamaha.
Although Miller was taken to the medical center by ambulance, he was later seen walking on the pit path. Binder, on the other hand, could not participate in the start again due to a shoulder injury.
After the red flag, the race was reduced to 19 laps, restarting the original grid respectively.
The temperature of 34 degrees forced Martin and Bagnaia to switch from the soft front tire to the center front tire, but Bagnaia decided to return to the soft tire again at the last minute.
Miller, Luca Marini and Quartararo, who restarted, were the other names who preferred the center front tire. All drivers used the mid-rear tire as in the sprint race.
While Miguel Oliveira was unable to participate in the race due to fractures in his right wrist, he was replaced by Aprilia test driver Lorenzo Savadori at Trackhouse.
Iannone, on the other hand, was called to race on Fabio di Giannantonio’s VR46 motorcycles, who required shoulder surgery.
After the cancellation of Valencia, the new MotoGP season finale is scheduled to be held in Barcelona on November 15-17.
