Nantes Owner Waldemar Kita on Trent Alexander-Arnold: “Who is He? I Don’t Even Know Him!”

Nantes owner Waldemar Kita made strong statements regarding rumors that Trent Alexander-Arnold was planning to buy the club.

What Happened?

Earlier this week, L’Equipe reported that Liverpool’s star defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, along with his father Michael, through a fund they own, was considering purchasing Nantes. According to the report, the offer was worth €100 million (£84 million), with €80 million (£67 million) to be paid upfront, €20 million (£17 million) as seller credit, and an additional €40 million (£34 million) in potential bonuses.

L’Equipe claimed that Alexander-Arnold’s father had met with Waldemar Kita three times, one of which was a video call prior to a meeting in Geneva. However, the Nantes owner completely denied the media reports about a potential sale.

What Did Kita Say?

Speaking to Presse Ocean, Waldemar Kita said:

“This is all nonsense! Where did this come from? How can you expect a serious man who wants to buy a club to use a journalist? Trent Alexander-Arnold? Who is he? I don’t even know him! They told me his father works in finance and has both players and managers. I never had any video calls with anyone. This is nonsense. How can this business happen with this much money?”

Sources close to the young Liverpool right-back also denied the claims about a potential purchase of the Ligue 1 club this week. It seems that, in the end, this story might lead to nothing.
