Okan Buruk’s Championship Ambitions

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk made statements at a breakfast event organized by the Galatasaray Managers and Business People Association (GSYİAD), emphasizing their commitment to achieving the 5th star and the 25th championship.

The 50-year-old coach expressed that they will do everything possible to finish the season at the top.

Okan Buruk mentioned that they had a tough start to the season, which disappointed the team and the fans, but they aim to rise after the end of the transfer window.

“We need to spread the joy of being at Galatasaray more within ourselves. Hopefully, after the transfer window closes and once we are fully prepared as a team, we will return to our original form. There is no doubt about that. We always say, ‘May is ours.’ After winning the championship in the Konyaspor match last season, I said, ‘The goal is the 5th star, the goal is the 25th championship.’ Let there be no doubt about this. We will do our best on this path. We will be stronger as a team, more prepared, more motivated, and more focused. At the beginning of this season, there were moments when we disappointed our fans. Hopefully, we will overcome these. We will bring back the truly strong Galatasaray—strong in play, strong externally, and the Galatasaray that opponents fear and respect again. As someone who grew up in the Galatasaray youth academy and as the coach of Galatasaray, I am trying to bring the joy here to Florya. Galatasaray is the essence.”
