PSV Triumphs at Home; Dinamo Zagreb Continues to Collect Points
The fourth week of the UEFA Champions League group stage saw PSV Eindhoven deliver a dominant 4-0 win over Spanish side Girona, while Dinamo Zagreb claimed a 4-1 away victory against Slovan Bratislava.
In Eindhoven, PSV took control early against Girona. Flamingo opened the scoring in the 16th minute, with Tillman adding a second in the 33rd. Bakayoko extended the lead in the 83rd minute, followed by an own goal by Krejci in the 89th minute to seal the scoreline. Girona suffered a further setback as Martinez was sent off in the 55th minute after receiving a second yellow card. With this win, PSV moved up to 5 points in the group, while Girona remained at 3.
Dinamo Zagreb’s Strong Comeback Run
Dinamo Zagreb, who started their Champions League campaign with a crushing 9-2 loss to Bayern Munich, has since turned their form around. With two wins and a draw in their last three games, the Croatian side added another victory with a 4-1 triumph over Slovan Bratislava.
Slovan Bratislava initially took the lead in the 5th minute with a goal from Strelec. However, Zagreb quickly responded, with Spikic equalizing in the 10th minute and Sucic putting them ahead in the 30th. Kulenovic further solidified Zagreb’s advantage with goals in the 54th and 72nd minutes, concluding the match at 4-1. This win brings Dinamo Zagreb’s points tally to 7, leaving Slovan Bratislava without a point in the group.
