Roberto Martinez has Singled out Fabio Silva for Praise
Portugal manager Roberto Martinez has singled out Fabio Silva for praise, labeling the striker as “interesting” and highlighting how his style differs from that of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Portugal managed a 1-1 draw with Croatia in their final Nations League group stage match, with goals from João Félix and Josko Gvardiol securing the result. The draw ensured Portugal advanced to the knockout stages as group winners.
WHAT ROBERTO MARTINEZ SAID
After the match, Martinez reflected on the performances of several players, including Fabio Silva. He said:
“Fabio Silva is a forward who brings something different. He has unique skills that set him apart from Gonçalo Ramos, Ronaldo, and Jota. His qualities are very interesting and add variety to our attacking options.”
The coach also praised other players who featured during the international break:
“I really liked Tomás Araújo’s debut. His personality and ability were impressive, especially starting in such a significant game. Tiago Djaló, despite playing in an unusual position, handled the pressure well. Players like João Félix and José Sá continue to show their importance. Managing to maintain a high level while using so many players across games is not easy, but it has been a productive camp.”
