Fenerbahçe’s Brazilian defender Rodrigo Becao is reportedly close to a move to Atalanta.
Following the arrival of José Mourinho at Fenerbahçe, Becao has found himself pushed down the pecking order, and rumors of his return to Italy have been growing. Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio has added to these reports, indicating that Atalanta and Fenerbahçe are finalizing the details of a loan deal with an option to buy.
According to Di Marzio, Atalanta aims to complete the transfer within the next 48 hours.
Falling Behind in the Rotation
Becao, who played for Udinese from 2019 to 2023 and made 130 Serie A appearances, scored one goal in 22 matches for Fenerbahçe during the 2023-24 season. However, he has fallen behind in the rotation, with Çağlar Söyüncü and Alexander Djiku now ahead of him, and Jayden Oosterwolde being considered for the left center-back role, making Becao the fourth-choice center-back at the club.
