Rooney to Star in Wrexham-Style Documentary Amid Start at Plymouth Argyle

Fans are apparently reacting differently to a “fly-on-the-wall” documentary that is being produced about Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney’s time as Plymouth Argyle manager. The project will explore Rooney’s life on and off the field, drawing inspiration from popular shows like Sunderland’s “Til I Die” and Wrexham’s popular show Welcome to Wrexham.

After Plymouth barely escaped relegation to League One earlier this year, Rooney took over as manager. His managing adventure in the Championship, where he has had a patchy start, has been documented by the cameras. Plymouth is now one point above the relegation zone in 18th place after four victories and four draws from his first 15 games.

Fan Responses

Some supporters have voiced their anger, while others are thrilled about the attention their team is receiving and the chance to tell the story of Plymouth’s journey to a larger audience. The decision has been called “embarrassing” by critics, who worry that it would take attention away from the team’s efforts to avoid relegation.
