Rosberg: “Red Bull can’t focus on 2025 due to the championship fight.”

Nico Rosberg believes Red Bull will struggle to focus on their 2025 car while trying to overtake McLaren in the championship.

McLaren’s gains in 2024, combined with Red Bull’s missteps in mid-season development, have propelled the Woking team to the top. With six race weekends left, Lando Norris is only 52 points behind Max Verstappen.

According to Rosberg, this raises the question of whether Red Bull, and even McLaren, will sacrifice their 2025 design to focus on this year’s car.

“For me, what’s interesting is the constructors’ championship,” he said.

“Teams usually start allocating almost all their resources to the next year from late spring or early summer.”
“With the championship fight continuing like this, I’m curious if Red Bull will dedicate more resources to this year and whether they will step back in that regard.”
“Of course, McLaren likely still needs to work very hard this year as well.”
