Shane Larkin: “The Secret to Our Championships Was Our Unity”
Anadolu Efes star Shane Larkin was featured in EuroLeague’s new documentary series “Rivalries.” The first episode focuses on the intense rivalry between Fenerbahçe Beko and Anadolu Efes in Istanbul.
During the documentary, Larkin reflected on winning back-to-back EuroLeague titles with Anadolu Efes and shared the secret behind their success:
“The secret to our championships was that we were all united as a team. It’s crucial when you look to your right and left in the locker room and know that you can trust the people around you with your eyes closed. You have to know the skills, weaknesses, and character of the player next to you. You need to understand who they are both on and off the court. That connection, combined with the motivation and experience we had as a group, helped us overcome every obstacle we faced. Winning back-to-back championships was an extraordinary achievement. We knew there weren’t many teams in history that had done it. The foundation of that team was built in 2018, and then we went on to win two consecutive titles. Those were truly special years, and all of us who experienced them are incredibly grateful.”
Larkin’s reflections highlight the importance of team chemistry and trust in achieving greatness on the court.
