The legendary Turkish volleyball club Arkas Spor announced that it will not compete in the Efeler League starting next season. The İzmir team, which began this season by winning the Balkan Cup and the Champions Cup, has shocked the volleyball community with this decision.
The management of Arkas Spor stated that the club will return to its roots by continuing its journey in the 1st League.
In a statement from the İzmir club, it was said: “Today, we want to share an important decision regarding the future of our club. Starting from the 2025-2026 season, Arkas Spor Club has decided to pause its competition in the Efeler League and continue its path in the 1st League. This decision has been made entirely in line with our goal of focusing on ‘infrastructure and young talents’ and aims to direct more resources to expand and develop our sports schools.”
Arkas Spor has celebrated four Turkish League titles, three Turkish Cups, one Balkan Cup, one Super Cup, and one Challenge Cup. The club’s women’s volleyball team had also previously withdrawn from the 1st League.
