STEINER POINTS OUT HAAS’S WRONG DECISION

Guenther Steiner claims that Haas made a critical mistake regarding its drivers.

The former team principal of Haas insists that Kevin Magnussen should be replaced immediately with Ollie Bearman. Haas has confirmed that Bearman will take Magnussen’s place in the 2025 season, but Steiner wants this change to happen sooner.

Steiner explained his reasoning on the Red Flags podcast: “Right now, the biggest example is Williams.” Williams removed underperforming Logan Sargeant from the team and rewarded Franco Colapinto for his performance.

Steiner joked, “Big Alex Albon is the most talented driver since Michael Schumacher… Then a guy comes along whose name nobody knows how to pronounce.”

“I have a lot of respect for Alex; he’s a good driver.”

“As for Colapinto… I hadn’t had him on my radar. Kudos to James Vowles; he discovered a very good talent.”

“The guy is comparable to Albon, a talent we already know, and he almost surpasses him.”

“Why not bring Bearman to the team?”

“He can’t do anything worse than finishing second to last and crashing into the wall.”

Magnussen had to withdraw early from the F1 Singapore Grand Prix due to a tire puncture. He had previously received a race ban due to accumulating penalty points.

However, Haas has made significant strides since finishing last in the Constructors’ Championship under Steiner’s leadership last season.

Under the leadership of Ayao Komatsu, they are currently in seventh place, largely thanks to the points scored by Nico Hulkenberg. Hulkenberg will move to Sauber next year, and Haas has signed Esteban Ocon from Alpine to replace him.
