Trabzonspor, continuing its transfer efforts, is still searching for a new striker besides Banza. Failing to agree terms with Onuachu, the club has accelerated its efforts to sign Olympique Lyon’s 22-year-old forward Gift Orban.
The Black Sea club’s management, with the approval of head coach Şenol Güneş, increased the loan fee to 1.5 million euros for Orban. The Nigerian forward, who wants to leave France due to being unhappy at the club, has reportedly agreed to Trabzonspor’s terms.
Lyon demanded a mandatory 6 million euro purchase clause, which would be triggered if the team wins the championship or if Orban scores 20 goals, as well as a share from his future sale. Trabzonspor agreed to the 6 million euros but rejected the future sale clause.
If this issue is resolved, Gift Orban will travel to Trabzon for a medical and to sign the contract. Orban has only played 31 minutes in one match for Lyon this season but managed to score 2 goals.
