Unexpected Transfer Move from Fenerbahçe: Tango Star Added to the List

Fenerbahçe had been in talks for weeks with the Argentine club for Cristian Medina, whom Jose Mourinho personally requested. The management agreed to Boca’s demands of $15 million, covering part of the taxes, and a percentage of a future sale.

OFFER ACCEPTED

Sporting Director Mario Branco held numerous meetings with both the player and Boca Juniors. Reaching an agreement with Medina was not difficult, but the Argentine club’s demands became wearisome. Fenerbahçe finally accepted Boca’s terms of $10 million + $5 million in bonuses, covering 20% of the taxes owed to the federation, and a 20% share of a future transfer.

CONTRACT UNTIL 2030

The Argentine press reported that Fenerbahçe’s management finally agreed to Boca’s demands. The Yellow Canaries have reached an agreement for Medina, a player admired by Mourinho and sought after by other clubs, and have also agreed for the player to join the team in January after the Argentine league concludes. Medina, the 22-year-old midfielder, is expected to sign a contract that will last until 2030. An official announcement about the transfer is expected soon.

PAID $8 MILLION

After the transfer of Amrabat, the second midfield addition was expected to be a young player with high potential. Branco has also set his sights on another Argentine talent, Federico Redondo. The 21-year-old is the son of Argentine football legend Fernando Redondo and transferred to Inter Miami from Argentinos Juniors for $8 million in February. It’s claimed that Fenerbahçe has made initial contact with Redondo to explore the possibility of a transfer.

17 MATCHES, 2 GOALS, 2 ASSISTS

The management has also reportedly communicated with Inter Miami through agents to inquire about their expectations for a potential transfer fee. If the American club is open to negotiations, Fenerbahçe is prepared to allocate the budget reserved for Medina to pursue Redondo. The young talent has contributed 2 goals and 2 assists in 17 matches for Inter Miami. Known for his accurate long passes, ability to regain possession, and effectiveness in duels, Redondo is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Argentine football.
