Verstappen and Norris no longer fly to races together
Lando Norris and Max Verstappen’s relationship is no longer as close as it once was.
Max Verstappen and Lando Norris often shared a plane to races in the past, but they have now given up that habit.
The rivalry between them strained the relationship between the two pilots and led to the end of their time together.
Former Formula 1 driver and television commentator Ralf Schumacher touched on this issue in an interview with formel1.de: “Max and Lando no longer fly together, they used to always travel on the same plane.”
“I don’t know if they’re still friends. But it’s hard to stay friends if they’re competing for the championship.”
Norris’ recent comments about Verstappen seem to have increased these tensions.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the Brazilian Grand Prix, Norris attributed Verstappen’s success to a “luck” factor.
The reaction to the comment was immediate in the Netherlands, the home country of three-time world champion Verstappen.
“It was more a matter of strategic choice than luck. It was a risky choice but it paid off in the end,” Dutch racer Tom Coronel told De Telegraaf.
