From Dortmund’s Yellow Wall to Besiktas’s Black Wall!

Besiktas President Hasan Arat stated, “We’ve done everything for the Black Wall. Once permission is granted, the adjustments will be completed in 4-5 weeks.”

Regarding the “Black Wall,” one of the most important projects of the Besiktas administration, President Hasan Arat mentioned that they are waiting for the results of the applications made to the relevant ministries. The administration wants to implement a version of Borussia Dortmund’s famous “Yellow Wall,” which strikes fear into opponents at Signal Iduna Park, at Tupras Stadium. In this context, the seats in the North Stand, known as “Yeni Acik,” will be removed, increasing the capacity of the section behind the goal by 7,000 people. The stadium’s capacity will reach 49,445.

If the “Black Wall” gets approved, the capacity of Yeni Acik will increase from 10,990 to 17,990, and the total stadium capacity will go from 42,445 to 49,445. At Borussia’s Signal Iduna Park, which has a capacity of 81,359, 25,000 yellow-clad fans create the “Gelbe Wand” (Yellow Wall), becoming a nightmare for opponents. Besiktas aims to create a similar effect with their black-clad fans at Tupras Stadium with the “Black Wall.”

No negative response so far

At the signing ceremony of the partnership with KIPTAS, President Hasan Arat said the following about the Black Wall: “We’ve done everything for the Black Wall. This matter is being discussed in the relevant state departments. So far, there’s been no negative response. We’ve fulfilled our obligations. Once the necessary permissions are obtained, the adjustments will be completed within 4-5 weeks. Our fans are filling the stands, and we want this to continue. We are also working on student ticket prices, addressing their valid demands.”

Van Bronckhorst will only leave if we do

Regarding criticism of coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Besiktas President Hasan Arat stated, “Van Bronckhorst is not going anywhere. He will only leave if we leave. He has a strong character, and we believe in him. We are not glued to our seats, and when the time comes, we will know how to leave.”

Semih Kilicsoy, the coach’s son, they’ll work it out themselves

After the signing ceremony with KIPTAS, Hasan Arat spoke to the press and addressed rumors surrounding Van Bronckhorst and the team, saying: “There is no problem with Semih. It’s entirely a coach’s decision. Ask the coach why he’s not playing him. Semih is like a son to our coach Van Bronckhorst. They will work it out among themselves.” The Besiktas president also emphasized that the team will not be disrupted after one draw and that in Besiktas, actions matter more than names.
