Galatasaray Finds Muslera’s Replacement in the Netherlands

As Galatasaray prepares to bid farewell to Fernando Muslera, who has cemented his place among the club’s legends, they have identified his alternative in the Netherlands.

After spending 13 seasons with Galatasaray and securing a special place in the hearts of the fans, Muslera will part ways with the club at the end of the season. Due to his advancing age and desire to return to his home country, the iconic goalkeeper, who has made history in the yellow-red colors, will say goodbye.

‘He Wants to Return to His Country’
Galatasaray’s head coach Okan Buruk recently spoke about the 38-year-old goalkeeper in a TV interview: “At the end of the season, he intends to return to his country. He is very professional, works hard. In my opinion, he can still play and continue. Last year and this year, he also wanted to return to his country and retire. His family, wife, and children are there. He has the desire to return home.”

‘Finding a Good Goalkeeper Isn’t Easy’
Buruk emphasized the difficulty of replacing Muslera: “He is the team captain, a key figure within the club. He’s not just a great goalkeeper, but also an important character. Finding a replacement when Muslera leaves won’t be easy. How much will you spend to find a new goalkeeper? One with the same professionalism, the same character, the same sense of belonging… It’s really not easy to find a good goalkeeper. Fenerbahce spent 10 million euros on Livakovic, right? 8-9? You pay good money for a good goalkeeper, but you never know how well they’ll adapt to you.”
