GASLY: “WHEN VERSTAPPEN FINISHED SECOND, HIS FATHER THREW HIS HELMET AT HIM”
Pierre Gasly shared a past incident involving Max Verstappen’s father, Jos Verstappen, describing it as “violent.” Jos Verstappen played a significant role in his son’s Formula 1 career but is also known for his strict methods of upbringing. In the documentary “Né pour gagner,” dedicated to Max Verstappen, Gasly recounted a troubling event: “I had won a race in Spain, and Max finished second.”
“His father got angry and started shouting in Dutch, then switched to swearing in English. Then he took Max’s helmet and threw it at him, saying, ‘You can’t even win a race!'” Gasly added that other kids were shocked to witness the incident.
